Privacy Policy

The short version: Clarity runs entirely on the device. It has no accounts, no servers and no analytics. Nothing you type into it — your message, your reminders, or the phone number for the call button — ever leaves the device, and we could not read any of it if we wanted to.
What the app does with your content
Clarity stores what you enter during setup: the name and phone number for the call button, the message shown on the clock, and the reminders you create. All of it is saved in the app's own storage on that device and used only to draw the clock and ring the reminders. None of it is transmitted anywhere.
What we collect
Nothing. Clarity has no server component. It does not collect, transmit or store any personal data, usage analytics, crash reports, advertising identifiers or device identifiers. The App Store privacy label for Clarity is "Data Not Collected".
The call button
The phone number you enter is stored on the device and used solely to start a call when the button is tapped. Tapping it hands the number to Apple's own Phone or FaceTime app, exactly as dialling it yourself would. The number is never sent to us or to anyone else, and Clarity places no calls on its own.
Permissions
- Notifications — so a reminder can ring at the time you set. Clarity sends no other notifications, and never sends marketing.
Clarity asks for no other permissions. It does not request contacts, location, microphone, camera or your photo library.
Internet access
The clock, your message and the reminders all work with no connection at all. Clarity does not need an internet connection to do its job, and does not use one to send anything about you.
Payments
There are none. Clarity is free, with no ads, no subscription and no in-app purchases, so there is no payment data of any kind.
Setting the app up for someone else
Clarity is usually set up by a family member or carer on behalf of the person who will use it. Because nothing is ever transmitted, the information you enter about them stays on the device you set up and nowhere else. Please do still enter only what is genuinely helpful to have on screen.
Deleting your data
Change or remove anything from inside Set up, or delete the app to remove everything it stored. Because nothing ever leaves the device, there is nothing for us to delete on any server.
Children
Clarity is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, of any age.
